17-Dark Eyed Junco
In the Autumn, these birds are quite commonly found foraging on the ground along the river

There are several 'races' of these birds

Pleasant little birds!

Always on the move, they make a formidable subject to photograph

This was an exception... he posed for me!

"A bird with a catchlight is worth two in the shade"

The use of a flash certainly works, but the result can look so artificial!

Sometimes when photographing we are lucky and have a natural reflection to fill the shadows

As with the Cedar Waxwings, we see these birds amongst the Russian Olive fruit
